Overview
In the future, KokoNiu in collaboration with the University of Queensland (UQ), have the goal of undertaking a survey across Northern Australia to identify existing domestic varieties showing traits of commercial interest. The primary aim is to undertake rapid propagation of selected varieties for an Australian coconut plantation industry.
KokoNiu aims to establish a new coconut industry by way of improving farmlands converted to coconut producing plantations. The Company plans to establish 300 hectares of coconut plantations which will require upwards of 60,000 plants (200 plants per hectare).
