A nursery set up will ensure local farmers interested in transitioning into coconut production would have sufficient supply of elite coconut trees to future proof an Australian coconut industry. Farmers would be enticed to buy KokoNiu elite coconut plantlets in exchange for guaranteed coconut prices at harvest times
Having spent 12 months in a growth room attached to the CTC Laboratory, the coconut plantlets will be transported to the nursery for 6 months of acclimatisation prior to being planted in the field.
